3rd-Jan-2010 11:10 pm - Bloomin' computers
Atlantis
Had intended to attempt something arty with an Atlantis theme today, but instead spent several hours trying to fix my computer, from which the toolbar, start menu and desk-top icons suddenly disappeared. Finally managed it, by which time not much day was left, but I did find a fabby tutorial to get my LJ smooth sailing layout over here ... which I have done. Am very pleased to have achieved something vaguely positive after all.

Never worked out what made the machine go wonky - just hope there's no repeat of the problem. *fingers crossed*
30th-Dec-2009 09:07 pm - Joy! :p
Atlantis
Back to work today: Christmas out, sale in. I suppose the plus is that I've taken a grand more than last December. Though the fact that it still only amounts to about 60% of a normal December's takings ... well, I'll just gloss over that, shall I?

Atlantis
So, now that I've got my shiny new journal(s), what am I going to do with it (them)?! Based on past experience, probably ignore 'em for several months...

Hey-ho!

Have three months worth of book-keeping to catch up on tomorrow. Joy!

...but it's a darned sight more fun than writing a business plan, hence the 100 question thingy filched from [livejournal.com profile] fawsley and [livejournal.com profile] dock_leaf can be found within )

EDIT: Reprieve! No work today, the snow ain't gorn away! Boss-lady has ordered me to stay at home, and who am I to argue?

12th-Oct-2008 02:07 pm - Poor Yorick, my arse!
Atlantis
Say 'Hello', Yorick!

Yorick is looking radiantly happy because at the end of this month, he is accompanying me, together with the fabulous [livejournal.com profile] fawsley and the delectable [livejournal.com profile] dock_leaf, to Stratford for a David Tennant-filled Shakeyfest of Hamlet and Love's Labour's Lost. And now - courtesy of the aforementioned fabulous [livejournal.com profile] fawsley - he will be travelling in style:

His sharpie pen is already safely stowed in the hopes that he can get a certain dishy Doctor to sign his cranium...
Arthur & Rick
Series : Sharpe's General
Title/Chapter : Part 4 - Portugal, May 1809. Chapter 3
Author : Farothiel
Pairing : Richard Sharpe/Arthur Wellesley, ref.to Sharpe/Joel Chase
Rated : NC-17 overall.
Disclaimer : Slash fiction. Sharpe is the property of Bernard Cornwell. This is purely for my own amusement and that of anyone else passing through. Sharpe is fictional, Wellesley was not, therefore this couldn't have happened!
Feedback : Always greatly appreciated.
Spoilers : None in this chapter.
Notes : Have finally got 'netability back after two weeks without - Yippee! Had hoped to be able to post this a little sooner - specifically Friday...so this is offered now as a belated birthday pressie to [livejournal.com profile] latin_cat. Hope you had a most fabby day, m'dear :D

Follows on directly from the previous chapter, which is here.

31st-Jul-2008 10:17 am - Arthur on the Radio
Sepia Arthur
Wellington fans on my flist may like to know that there will be several programmes on Radio 4 next week, collectively entitled At War with Wellington (latest Radio Times, page 118/9): two half-hour documentaries at 11am on Monday and Friday, plus five docudramas at 3.45pm daily (Mon-Fri).

There will also be additional interesting blurb on the Radio 4 website (www.bbc.co.uk/radio4 - sorry that's not a proper link: am at work and can't remember the wotsit!)
7th-Jul-2008 08:21 pm - Fic - Sharpe's Descent
Sepia Sharpe
Title : Sharpe’s Descent : Badajoz ~ 20th August 1809
Author : Farothiel
Pairing : None
Rating : PG-13.
Disclaimer : Richard Sharpe is the property of Bernard Cornwell. This is not a true representation of any member of the Wellesley family, and is written purely for entertainment, not profit.
Comments: Always gratefully received.
Summary: Sharpe and Sir Arthur’s encounters provide entertainment for Hogan.
Notes: Many thanks for beta-ing duties to my most fabbest pal, [livejournal.com profile] fawsley. I've plonked Arthur at Badajoz sooner than he arrived there in reality, but - quite frankly - everyone was rather bored with traipsing about the Spanish countryside...
